JP “Todd” Hawes

This guy remains one of my hero’s, his music is timeless and divine; he writes songs to kill.  Todd called me up a couple weeks back and told me he’d written a few new songs, which he had planned on recording.  I didn’t need to hear them, I just told him yeah, we’ll record em’.  Todd and I go way back, probably 8th grade, although I recall having thought he was much older than me at the time, he was in Jazz Ensemble, I was jerking off in Band 101.  Back then, you had to kindle a relationship with this guy, I mean, he was that legendary.  Just to give you an idea of what I’m talking about, he was listening to people like Ryan Adams and Gillian Welch in the 8th grade!  So you know he was bound to write great songs.  I eventually inched my way into the aura he’d created and became one of his cohorts.  We’ve been creating music together ever since, and this is my introduction of Todd Hawes to you guys in the real world.  We recorded these beautiful songs last weekend on a half working tape machine in a living room.  I play the piano and mandolin.  Also, another friend of ours Aaron Danks (who you will all hear about someday) stopped in for a little impromptu jazz jam, which consists of me on drums, aaron on piano, and todd on bass; the jam gets severed at the end because we ran out of tape.  Well, here’s the music, enjoy.  BTW - Although Todd and I were in the same grade, he was much older than me, I was right.   -Sutter

Div share wouldn’t let me post the songs, could someone help?
